Invited for the 2001 Season:
Our club is now taking winter application for new River Rats members for the 2001 season.
Our club plans on holding some DB training during the winter months, either in a regular pool or a special boating pool. We don't paddle very far in a pool, as you might guess, but we can work on technique and timing drills.
All levels of athleticism are welcome at our club. We run both competitive and recreational dragon boat teams
For 2001: the EDBRC plans on racing in Vancouver for June, Saskatoon and/or Calgary for July, Edmonton in August, and Kelowna in September. We may also race Victoria in August if timing and funding fit.
Can we join? We're really a lot of fun!
You are now anointed as a neophyte River Rat, my son. Take this burden carefully, and beware the dreaded spillage of your martini during Power 10 sequences.
As winter descends upon us Albertans, plans are in the works to keep our DB club exercising throughout the winter. Here are the current projects we are working on:
1) pool training with our special DB boat
2) discounts on Gold's Gym memberships
3) Kayak polo with Kaye
4) Xcountry skiing with Dave
5) Pub nights (well, it's not exercise, but at least we can go dancing together).
We love winter training! It's so warm in the gym, we can take some of our clothes off!

2. Edmonton Festival, Aug. 19-20, 2000
3. Kelowna Festival, Sep. 16-17, 2000
